Drama Officers 2017-2018
Hannah Laughlin - President
Hannah Grace Laughlin has been acting since she was six years old. She started her acting career at Perimeter School and performed in six shows there, including: Charlotte's Web (Charlotte), Peter Pan (Older Wendy/Mrs.Darling), Annie jr. (Star-to-be), and Anne of Green Gables (Mrs. Spencer/Mrs. Phillips). She was inducted there into the Junior Thespians. She got a superior score of a perfect 100 on her I.E. at Thescon and was invited to attend Nationals with High Schoolers all over the nation as a middle school student. She trained at The Atlanta Workshop Players for a couple of years and was in the Company. She also trained at The Performer's Warehouse in different styles of dance, including jazz, tap, and ballet. She took acting classes focusing primarily on the Stanislavsky and Meisner techniques. She has spent time at CYT Atlanta as well. While she was there, she participated in Competition Troupe in Walt Disney World. Her cast of 'Beauty and the Beast' won the Judges Award and was invited to perform 'Be Our Guest' on the Disney Stage.
During Hannah's freshman year, she did school online because she got the incredible opportunity to work alongside a fantastic director and friend, Valerie Scott to assistant direct/choreograph the Perimeter Christian School plays and musical. Her sophomore year, she came to Providence. She has never grown more as an actress and performer than at Providence. Hannah got the opportunity to play her dream role "Shelby" in Steel Magnolias and won an award at the Regional One Act competition for her portrayal of the role in 2017. Her other most favorite role has been "Winifred Banks" in Mary Poppins this past winter. This past May, she was inducted as an "Honor Thespian". She plans to pursue acting/directing/screenwriting for film in college and beyond.
Ava Williams - Vice President
Ava is a senior and has been performing and training in the arts since she was 5 years old. She began by dancing with Perimeter’s Academy of the Arts ballet program for 8 years, as well as taking drama there for 2 years. She attended Perimeter Christian School from 1st-8th grade, and performed in many shows there, including Annie Jr. (as Tessie), and Annie Get Your Gun (as Annie). In February 2014, she performed in a group I.E. at the Junior Thespian Conference which was ranked as superior and selected for the showcase.
She has been vocally trained by Kara Harrington, Lisa Garcia, and Camiah Mingorance and has taken acting lessons from Eric Bragg. She's taken part in many workshops, classes, and camps with CYT, Stipe Studios, Performer’s Warehouse, and The Alliance Theatre. She's performed with Red Phoenix Theatre Company in many shows, including High School Musical Jr. (Sharpay), and Lion King Jr. (Sarabi). Last summer, she performed in Agape Players’ Thoroughly Modern Mille (Alice).
She currently lives in Johns Creek, and attends Providence Christian Academy, where she leads worship every week in AXIS, cheers during the football and basketball seasons, and takes part in the theatre department there as well. Most recently, she's played Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Annelle in Steel Magnolias, and Mary in Mary Poppins. She was also inducted into the International Thespian Society in the spring of 2016. She plans to pursue a career in musical theatre in college and in the future, but for now, enjoys spending time with her friends and family of 6 kids, and gives Jesus Christ all the glory and gratitude in all her endeavors.
Abby Agan - Secretary
Abigail Agan is a junior in high school, and is thrilled to be an officer for Providence Christian Academy's Thespian troupe. She has years of experience performing. Abby danced classical ballet for eight years at Alexandra School of Ballet, a pre-professional ballet school and company in St. Louis, Missouri. She joined the Alexandra Ballet Company in 2012, and continued for three more seasons until she moved to Georgia.
Favorite roles and productions include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (fairy), The Sleeping Beauty (Garland Waltz), Coppelia (Mazurka, Waltz of the Hours), La Bayadere Palace Garden (soloist), Napoli (pas de quatre), Le Jardin Animee (corps de ballet), and five performances of The Nutcracker (Clara, Snowflake, Waltz of the Flowers, Columbine Doll, Spanish). Her favorite soloist roles in original contemporary works include Heliotrope Bouquet, which was choreographed to the music of Scott Joplin by CiCi Houston; and Affettuoso, choreographed to the music of Antonio Vivaldi by Dillon Malinski.
After moving to Atlanta and coming to Providence for her freshman year, Abby has had the privilege of performing in many shows under the direction of Eric and Anna Bragg, including The Miracle Worker (Blind Girl), The Little Mermaid (Windward, Ensemble), Steel Magnolias (Truvy), Mary Poppins (Miss Lark, Ensemble), and Runaways (Evelyn). Abby is currently a member of Providence’s Student Council, is a Student Ambassador, and has been an editor for the school newspaper. She can't wait to pursue acting and writing through high school and beyond.
Goldie Hatch - Treasurer
Goldie Hatch is a sophomore this year, and is super excited about her first year as an officer! She has been a lover of theatre since she was young, and has been doing plays at Providence since the fourth grade. Her favorite roles she has played at Providence indie Annie (Annie Jr.), Lucy (You're a Good Man Charlie Brown), Wendy (Peter Pan Jr.), and Ouiser (Steel Magnolias).
She has also done three shows with the Agape Players, and has recently started training at ORBITS Arts Academy. She loves the community the theatre program has created, and is excited to see it grow. She gives the creator glory from which all creativity is given.
Rachel Rowland - Clerk
Rachel caught the acting bug at age 5 when she decided she would rather be performing than kicking a soccer ball. She began acting on the big stage at Perimeter Christian School where she was in: The Sound of Music(Gretel), Ramona Quimby where she played Ramona and was given the award for best actress at her school. In 6th grade her family traveled to Singapore where she was given the supporting role of Little Ti Moune in Once on This Island.
After leaving Singapore, Rachel was inducted as a Junior Thespian and Performed in Annie Get Your Gun (Nellie Oakley). When Rachel began 8th grade she auditioned for a Red Phoenix show where she met Eric and Anna Bragg. She was cast as a Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.
Rachel began High School at Providence and she performed in many shows! She was in Beauty and Beast (Lefou), in 9th grade. In 10th grade, Rachel was in The Miracle Worker where she played her childhood role model, Helen Keller. At One Act she received an All-Star Cast award. Also that year, she portrayed Flounder in The Little Mermaid. As a junior, Rachel appeared in Mary Poppins (Jane Banks) and Runaways(Ruby). Rachel was inducted as a thespian and competed at the thespian conference. While there she was called backed by many notable colleges.
Rachel lives in Johns Creek and is part of the AXIS worship team for her school. She has two younger siblings, two cats, and an amazing mother and father who put up with her dramatic self. She would like to major in Psychology while hoping to continue to act through film or TV. She continues to perform for God as she passionately pursues Him not only through acting but through everyday life.
Eric Bragg - High School Drama Director
Eric Bragg has been an educator in Georgia since 2003. For 11 years, he served as a teacher with the Fulton County School System. During that time he founded the drama department at Creek View Elementary School. His efforts at Creek View were recognized with a Teacher of the Year nomination and NBC’s prestigious Class Act Award in 2006. Eric has been the award winning director of numerous films that were entered in the Georgia Movie Academy state film competition and was a National Finalist in Sony’s Technology in Motion film competition. In 2007, Eric transferred to River Trail Middle School to teach drama full time.
During his tenure as the drama teacher and director at RTMS, Eric directed numerous titles both at River Trail and with The Red Phoenix Theatre Company. Some of these credits include: Les Miserables, Into the Woods Jr., Flowers for Algernon, Sweeney Todd, Seussical Jr., Once on this Island Jr., In the Heights, and The Lion King Jr. He was also nominated for Teacher of the Year again in 2012. In January of 2013, Eric received the Freddie G Experience award from Music Theatre International for his work as a director with youth. In 2015, Eric was asked to direct Disney's Beauty and the Beast at Providence Christian Academy, and in the fall of that year was asked to come on staff at Providence as the Fine Arts Director full time. In 2015-16, Providence's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid was nominated for two Shuler Hensley Awards and two honorable mentions. Eric was nominated for Scenic Design and was an honorable mention for Best Director that year. In 2016-17, Steel Magnolias was runner up at Area One Act competition. Also that year, the cast of Mary Poppins received 3 Shuler Hensley Award nominations, a win for Best Costumes, and an honorable mention.
Since moving to Georgia, Eric has performed in both professional and community theatre. Some of these credits include: True West (Austin), Once On This Island (Julian), Wit (Jason), The Boys Next Door (Jack), Into the Woods (Narrator/Mysterious Man), and Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble). Eric’s passion for theatre and his love of children have paired well in his professional pursuits. He is thankful to have had so many fantastic opportunities doing what he loves each day!
Anna Bragg - Elementary/Middle School Drama Director
Anna Bragg has been acting, choreographing, and directing since she graduated from Baylor University in 2008. As an actor, director, and choreographer, she has worked on multiple productions such as CATS, Side Show, All Shook Up, Little Shop of Horrors, In the Heights, The Lion King Jr., Catch Me If You Can and many more. She has worked with multiple Atlanta theaters such as OnStage Atlanta, 14th Street Playhouse, and Georgia Tech Players. She also worked for the Atlanta Ballet for several years teaching dance. Anna currently works at Providence Christian Academy as the elementary/middle school drama director.
At Providence in 2016-17, her work for Mary Poppins received 3 Shuler Hensley Award nominations. Anna was nominated for Best Choreography, "Step In Time" was nominated for Showstopper, and she won the Shuler Award for Best Costumes. Anna is dedicated to making the performing arts an enjoyable experience where everyone can learn to shine.
